We write documents that detail the activities of many of our trips. Generally, we add photos to the narrative. This makes for a rich compendium of information about each of the adventures. These documents serve as reminders of the past and guides for future travel.

In Search of Wine

A small group of people, mostly from Southern California, made two trips to taste the wine and explore the wineries of two areas: Napa Valley and Bordeaux. Both trips were arranged by the participants; these were not “tours” in the usual sense.

There was a lot of overlap between people on the two trips. Subsequent to these trips, the travelers have gotten together on a few occasions. The group calls itself “The Bordeaux Nine.”

Each of the trips resulted in a detailed illustrated booklet. These documents which describe the explorations are available on an ISSUU website. The links to the documents are given below. Click on a link to see the story.

These stories aren’t just about the wine. These people like to eat, too.

Napa Valley

Finding Fine Wine (ISSUU link) is the story of the Napa Valley trip.

None of us were new to seeing this California wine region. We knew that we wanted to go some special places and to have experiences unlike those on commercial “wine tours.” We fulfilled these expectations.

France & Spain

The success of the Napa explorations prompted the organization of a trip to France. There, the Bordeaux Nine went through all the major wine regions in Bordeaux (Bordeaux 1: ISSUU link) and then traveled south to San Sebastian for more adventures (bordeaux 2: ISSUU link).
